With reference to my Despatch No. 52 of
the 24th. February, I have the honour to recommend Mr. A. H. Hollingsworth, First Grade Executive Engineer, for appoint- -ment to the post of Second Assistant Director of Public Works
which will fall vacant on the 14th, June, 1919, by the
retirement of Mr. C. H. Gale.

Mr. Hollingsworth is at present the
Senior Executive Engineer in the Department. He is 47 years
of age, and has had 22 years service in the Colony, having joined the Service as an Assistant Engineer in December,1896. He was promoted in January, 1902, to the rank of Executive Engineer and has acted as Second Assistant Director of Public Works on three previous occasions. The Director of Public Works supports this recommendation. I am confident that Mr. Hollingsworth is well qualified and able to perform the
duties of the post.

a statement of Mr. Hollingsworth's professional experience
was enclosed.
